Hi, I'm Melissa! The Gilded Violet Co was created to help you incorporate fun and individualistic style to your space--because being you is is a wonderful thing.

Style is fun and unique and when you create a space that is a mixture of the things you love--you feel complete in your home.

My inspiration for the brass candles comes from my love of vintage furniture and decor and items picked up while traveling. Since I'm a military spouse It's hard sometimes to make a new home cozy. That's where old furniture from different cities, hand me down decor, and a candle comes together to make our home feel lived in. Scent is a meaningful way to express ourselves, and it's so magical when a scent can super-charge a memory.

After too many years of not buying and being able to enjoy candles because of the potentially toxic chemicals they contained. Me being a lover of fragrance, decided to make my own scented candles and stop guessing. From label design to wax testing, to fragrance selecting, to packing, and shipping, I do it all.  

At first my idea was to up-cycle vintage vessels as a way to reuse previously loved pieces--and to keep trash to a minimum. However, after gathering inspiration from brass treasures I'd collected, I was able to design and outsource beautifully handcrafted brass vessels from India that are refillable with one of our candle refill kits. Each vessel from India is skillfully and lovingly hand-tooled and polished to a bright, gold shine. 

Brass is unique in that it doesn't rust and takes on a lovely patina over time. It's timeless and can be found from light fixtures to drawer knobs.

Our candles truly combine the nostalgia a scent can bring about with hidden gems from the past. You can really make a statement when you pass these along, as they make the best gifts for any occasion and the holiday's.

I'm also Certified Holistic Health Coach and a military spouse currently living in Washington state. You can find me rollerskating, running, cooking, reading, having deep convos about life, or being outside in the sun!
